ABOUT
I believe that being candid and authentic are key to thriving in today’s virtual world. My blog is a place where celebrating one’s personality, what one see's as necessary for a good life, and what is close to one's heart, are at the core of my site’s mission. Connecting with the residents of Lewisville and the world in which we live is what brought me to start Julia - A Voice For The People.
My husband Kevin and I have lived in Lewisville for almost 25 years. Kevin is a middle school science teacher in Yadkinville, and I just retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools after 19 years. I was a teacher, an instructional coach, and an assistant principal. I now work with the City of Winston-Salem in the Human Relations/Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department as the City's Equity Assurance Administrator.
My work has always been service oriented. The work that I do with the City is to ensure that both City employees and the citizens we serve are treated in an equitable and inclusive manner. If elected to the Lewisville Town Council my goal would be the same, to serve the residents and to ensure that their vision for the town, and any concerns they may express, are treated and addressed in an equitable and inclusive manner. As a Town Council member it would be my responsibility, and my privilege, to be a voice for my fellow Lewisville residents on the Town Council.
